They crammed a whole lot of motor in that bay, not the most inviting for a weekend wrencher. What do I need to remove to gain better access to the shallow pool of coolant outside of the black plastic thing? Are there common failures in this area? My assumption is it must be like a water pump or something based on location, but again very difficult to tell. I tried my best to capture photo's to help you get a perspective. I know it had a transmission cooling line replaced a couple hundred miles ago, but don't know if that is relevant based on where the leak is and the puddle. This is not really a problem,i have a 2014 6.7 with 95,400 miles on it and was wondering do you still ad an additive to the coolant every so many miles. If you were to measure from the front of the motor near the fan, I would say the leak is ending just 3-4 inches towards the rear. 6.7 Problems Forum (2011-2016) 6.7 Motor Problems (2011-2016) Coolant additive. The best place I could identify it puddling is directly below the black plastic what I believe to be an upper intake manifold? I read others' issues about dripping near the bell housing which is too far towards the rear. I took some pictures from underneath and above. I put a bucket underneath overnight (so cats wouldn't be tempted) and it didn't leak, it only leaks after driving it. I looked under truck cant see any rubbing or metal shavings, nothing. Its not showing up under my DTC on the mini max.
